Rondo of Blood for PC Engine is one of my favourite Castlevania games so this is great news for me Always wanted that and SotN to be ported to NDS. The dripping blood subtitle is kind of cheesy, but it's a way better title screen than the PSP version. The "Castlevania: Rondo of Blood" title screen also looks seriously damn snappy, like possibly even better than the actual Japanese ROB logo. Symphony of the Night was released in 1997 for the PlayStation 1, where it would go on to inspire a multitude of games to come. Pretty buggy.īut, the opening cinematic seemed to play out all right, and with English subtitles, and the cinematic with Maria plays out fine with the English voices properly synced. I've been wanting to play the original game on a TV with the changes from the PSP version. Either way though, I not picky about it since the SNES "version" is the only related localized game to get the X in the title. ![]() If the game had been localized (by TTi) for the US Duo, however late in life for the system, I wonder what they would have done. So even if you did modify the title screen with just the existing sprite cells (probably removing the tall parts of the C), you'd still need to hack the SAT itself. And on top of that, I only inserted enough sprite cells to make the new screen and not all of vram - nor did I hack the SAT (sprite attribute table) remaining entries to show at the edges of the new title screen. But I completely removed the X slashing animation. Rondo of Blood has always been one of my favorite and I thought it would be a great way to give an overview of both titles, and show you what version works f. Well, technically you can edit the new graphics/sprites cells that I inserted into ISO it's no longer compressed data. ![]()
